All Peterbilt natural gas platform vehicles are equipped with the Cummins Westport ISL G engine, which offers a 320 horsepower rating and 1,000 lb-ft of torque and provides an extremely efficient fuel-to-power ratio. Efficient and emissions compliant, the ISL G natural gas engine produces horsepower and torque comparable in capability and service to the diesel engines. The CNG platform is part of Peterbilt's family of alternative fuel vehicles; the industry's most comprehensive environmentally responsible lineup.
The 8.9-liter PACCAR PX-9 engine has one of the highest power-to-weight ratios in its class, with heavy-duty features like replaceable wet liners, roller cam followers, bypass oil filtration and targeted piston-cooling. Available in both medium- and heavy-duty configurations, this engine delivers the durability and efficiency needed to lower operating expenses, reduce maintenance and increase productivity.
In congested urban environments and tight loading and unloading conditions, the 382’s 50-degree wheel cut improves maneuverability. Available with a selection of lightweight suspensions, including the Low Air Leaf, the 382 provides a smooth, controlled ride and excellent braking and steering characteristics.
